LeBauer Park Greensboro: Your Complete Guide to Downtown GSO’s Favorite Park

If you spend any time in downtown Greensboro, you’ve probably found yourself gravitating toward LeBauer Park. Located in the heart of the city at 208 N. Davie St., this beautifully designed urban park has become the beating heart of downtown GSO — a gathering place for locals, families, dog owners, music lovers, and anyone who just wants to enjoy a great outdoor space in the city.

Managed by Greensboro Downtown Parks, Inc., LeBauer Park hosts over 400 programs and events annually and offers a genuinely impressive lineup of amenities that make it one of the best free things to do in Greensboro any day of the week.

What’s at LeBauer Park

Janet Echelman’s “Where We Met” Aerial Sculpture

The crown jewel of LeBauer Park and one of the most striking pieces of public art in North Carolina. “Where We Met” is a massive net sculpture by world-renowned artist Janet Echelman that floats above the park, shifting and flowing with the wind. The sculpture pays tribute to Greensboro’s textile and railroad heritage — weaving together the threads of the city’s history into something truly breathtaking. It’s especially stunning at night when it’s illuminated. A must-see on any visit to downtown Greensboro.

Price/Bryan Performance Place

A 17,000-square-foot open lawn that serves as the park’s main event stage and gathering space. This is where the NC Folk Festival, City Sunsets Concert Series, Noches Latinas, Greensboro Pride, and hundreds of other events take place each year. On a summer evening with live music playing and the skyline lit up behind the stage, it’s one of the best experiences Greensboro has to offer.

Sprayground & Interactive Fountain

One of the most popular spots in the park during summer months — especially for families. The interactive fountain and sprayground provide a fun and refreshing way to cool off on hot Greensboro days. Bring a towel and a change of clothes for the kids!

Playground

A uniquely designed playground with a 4-foot climbing wall, rope climbing features, and slides that engage kids of all ages. One of the better playgrounds in downtown Greensboro and a big reason families make LeBauer a regular destination.

Peacehaven Sensory Space

A thoughtfully designed interactive space for people with sensory processing disorders — a rare and meaningful addition to a downtown park that speaks to Greensboro’s commitment to inclusion and accessibility.

Dog Park

Leashed dogs are welcome throughout the park, and there’s a dedicated dog park area that makes LeBauer one of the most dog-friendly spaces in downtown Greensboro. A great spot to let your pup run and meet other dogs.

Lawn Service Coffee (by Little Brother Brewing)

Need a coffee or a craft beer while you enjoy the park? Lawn Service — an outdoor bar and coffee stand operated by Little Brother Brewing — is right there in the park at 210 N. Davie St. A cold brew on a sunny day at LeBauer is a Greensboro rite of passage.

Nearby Dining

The park is steps from several excellent restaurants and cafes. Ghassan’s Fresh Mediterranean Eats is a longtime favorite nearby, and South Elm Street’s full lineup of bars, restaurants, and coffee shops is just a short walk away.
