Best Affordable meals in Greensboro

Some nights, nobody feels like cooking. Other nights, you want something better than fast food but still easy, affordable, and filling. That’s where meal deals come in.

We use these kinds of bundles all the time. Sometimes it’s feeding our family. Sometimes it’s having friends over. Sometimes it’s just wanting leftovers for the next day without spending a fortune. Ordering a family-style or group meal takes the guesswork out of dinner and usually costs less than ordering individual entrées.

Luckily, the Triad has no shortage of solid meal deals. From grocery store hot bars to local barbecue joints and national chains, there are plenty of options that give you a lot of food for a fair price. Below are some of our favorite go-to spots for easy, shareable meals that actually feel worth the money.

Our Favorite Meal Deals Around the Triad

Fresh Market Little Big Meal

This is one of our favorite “I don’t want to think about dinner” solutions. Each week, Fresh Market features a different Little Big Meal, and we always check it when planning the week.

Most meals run about $25 and usually save $10–$15 compared to buying everything separately. They typically feed four and often include sides or even dessert, which helps stretch the meal a little further. You’ll find the featured meal clearly displayed in-store, so it’s easy to grab and go. We’ve relied on this more times than we can count during busy weeks.

Harris Teeter $5 Meal Deals

Harris Teeter’s daily $5 deals are great if you want something simple and predictable. Each day has a different entrée option, and while these are technically single items, we often combine a couple to feed everyone.

Weekly lineup:

  • Monday: Cheese or Pepperoni Pizza (very popular — go early or call ahead)
  • Tuesday: Rotisserie Chicken
  • Wednesday: Deli Green Salad
  • Thursday: 8-piece Baked or Fried Chicken
  • Friday: Select Sushi Items

This is one of those deals that works whether you’re feeding a group or just grabbing something easy on the way home.

Lowes Foods Meal Deals

Lowes Foods has some surprisingly good weekly specials if you know where to look.

  • $0.44 Wing Wednesday: Available in 8, 16, 24, or 48 counts (48 count is pre-order only)
  • $5 Half-Slab Rib Fridays: One of the better grocery-store rib deals we’ve tried

These are great add-ons if you’re already stopping in or want to mix and match proteins for a crowd.

Salsarita’s Fiesta Packs

We order these when we’re feeding a group, and there’s almost always leftovers.

$44.99 Fiesta Pack (listed as feeding 5, but we’ve stretched it further) includes:

  • Tortillas
  • Grilled chicken and/or ground beef
  • Mexican rice & black beans
  • Lettuce, cheese, sour cream, tomatoes
  • Chips and two signature salsas

You can upgrade to Deluxe with queso and guacamole for an extra $10, which we usually do and never regret.

Taco Mama Happy Family Meals

These are generous and great for taco nights at home.

  • $52 Meal (feeds 4–6):
12 tortillas, chips, chicken, ground beef, black beans, cilantro lime rice, queso, salsa, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream
  • $98 Game Day Box (feeds 8):
Basically the same setup, just double the portions

We like these for casual get-togethers where everyone can build their own plate.

Viva Chicken Meal Deals

This is one we order regularly.
